The female condom is a barrier method to protect you from pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS. During sexual intercourse, it works covering the cervix to prevent direct contact between the penis and vagina secretions. It involves a kind of thin plastic bag, approximately 15 cm long. It has two rings: one in the domestic fund, which is flexible and is inserted into the vagina, and another larger in the open end of the bag, which covers the external lips of women.
The female condom has a 79% to 95% success rate, can be inserted up to eight hours before intercourse, has no hormonal side effects and does not affect fertility in the future.
A very important things is that you should not use a female condom along with a male condom at a time.
How is it used?
It may be a little difficult at first, but with practice you will be easier. Take your time and insert it just like a sexual toy with one foot on a chair, sit with your knees apart, squatting or lying down with your legs bent. With one hand separates the lips and the other external support with your thumb and middle finger inner ring of condoms to form an oval and keep it pressed, leaving hanging the open end. Press into the vagina and push the index finger behind the pubic bone as far as you can get, to cover the cervix. Once you’re deep enough so as not to leave and not feel the inner ring, make sure the condom is not crooked. The inner ring keeps a condom in their place inside the vagina, and the outer ring should be approximately 2.5 cm outside the vaginal opening, and leaning against covering the lips.
